The “lists fever” as I call it is a genuine traffic bringer. People love lists – and as much as I don’t like listing things, I have to reconsider. Because I love people.
I wrote a few entries about the Web, communication, friendship and relationships. I wrote about my friends a few times, I mentioned how proud I was to know Liz Strauss, Alina Popescu, Jen the Thruthdancer, Yvonne Russell, Laura Spencer, Lillie Ammann, and so many others. And what all these people have in common is that… I’ve never met them in the real life. They are all “virtual friends” – yet the connection I feel with each and every one of them is stronger than life. Any of them knows that I will be there whenever they need me. A powerful statement, yet as true as it can get.
Liz wiped my tears, Alina takes my heart home, Jen reminds me to forgive and forget, Yvonne is the perfect colleague and friend, Lillie brings God closer to my heart and Laura is always there when I ask for her help. True friends are made of this. You see, these are not “my readers.” They read my stuff, I read their stuff, but there is a lot more to it and we often don’t need too many words to know that what we have is special and unbreakable.
I remember how Yvonne encouraged me when I was somehow depressed because too much offline work kept me away from my friends and my readers. And each time I chat with Alina I miss my family and friends less – because she is there, true Romanian spirit, a pure heart. I could write so many pages about each and every one.
I opened this entry with a short note on lists. Obviously my plan was to make a list. And I kept you waiting. Sometimes it feels good to wait for things that are really worth it. Pearl is worth it. She is my friend and she is more than that: she is someone who trusts me above all, although she has never seen me in person. It feels good to be trusted by a genuine human being, a soul so pure and young that many of us should just stop and behold in wonder.
Of course, my list is probably a bit redundant. But you see, there are some things I just had to repeat.
Why such a list today? Well, in a world dominated by lists that tell about how to make money online, how to reboot your PC and other such general topics, it feels good to remember that nothing is possible without the people in our lives. And they need to know how much we respect them and how much we value them.
Now take some time to think about it: is there anyone in your life who deserves such a list? Then you know how rich you are.
Thank you, Pearl, for being my friend. This is my homage to you.

3OMG OMG!!! Mig, I am completely speechless! I admit I had to bring the whole box of tissues, so along with a huge grin, I am crying…a true paradox
I feel as if you just looked at me through time and space!
I wonder what I did to deserve such love and attention…. I am so humbled by this honor!
you know that saying, don’t you? “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” By Anais Nin? Thats exactly what has happened here… you are a rare Gem yourself, and you reflect your own light on everyone around you
so you see me, her, him and everyone else shining too
With loads of love and luck
Pearl! *hugs*
XOXO

7Wonderful Mig. I totally agree about Pearl but you and her have a lot in common you know. I thank you for the advice and encouragement you have given me without expecting anything in return.
Now I have a lovely warm glowing feeling inside and that feels so good.

9One of my longest friends is one I knew since I was 12, now 24…Met him while playing ultima online back in the day. We stay in touch daily and I think online relationships can be just as powerful if not more so.

10Yes Matt, they are really powerful. It’s hard to find the words to describe how powerful they are… but I know, from personal experience that they even can change destinies.

Honestly, I couldn’t stop showing everyone this post…

My Best Blogging Achievement | Interesting Observations

14[...] So, I don’t think I can call any one of these as my best blogging achievement! Each one of the above listed events was an achievement in itself and brought immense satisfaction and joy. But all of these achievements had one and only one aspect in common, and that is the people, who either came to comment on this blog, or subscribed, and slowly became cherished friends! [...]

17Thanks, Mig, for including me on your list of online friends and for introducing me to Pearl. She has a wonderfully creative blog to share.
I was not looking for virtual friendship when I entered the blogosphere, but the friendships that have developed online have been a wonderful surprise. (Kind of like getting a present when it’s not Christmas or your birthday.)

18I know what you mean, Laura. This very blog had no other purpose but purely business and today… it’s the bridge between us. As Pearl says: “I am all, because of you!”

19@Alina: thank you for the kind words…Yes! I am very fortunate to have found Mig…. She is amazing
@Laura: thank you
you know, this was the best Christmas present I’ve had in years! These friendships and connections we develop are at the core of blogging and is what keeps me going…..
and as Mig says, this blog was started out as business but became a bridge.. I still have no clue as to what “niche” my blog is in
but I am having a blast simply because of all the love and support I get from my friends!

21Hi Mig,
Pearl is amazing and is very creative with her blog.
Like many others, I stated blogging not to make friendships, but to pass on information. Somehow it kind of snowballed and I started my secondary blog. I wouldn’t knock any of it as I have met so many amazing and diverse people globally, and this is what makes it all bind together.
Hope the rest of your week is wonderful

22I understand how stressful the PR work can be, Alina. And also how rewarding. Sometimes we need to taste nonsense to fully be able to appreciate the little wonders.

23Thank you very much, Colin.
What I find really amazing is the way these apparently business blogs reveal our hearts and sometimes we don’t even realize it!

24Mig,
I have been away from catching up on blogs, so this was a wonderful suprise! Thank you!
I agree that blogging friendship connections are very powerful. I like your analogy of a “bridge.”
Lovely to get to know Pearl better too.
