It’s been a while since my last “weekend entry – blogs to read.” I had to give that up in the past four months. There were many interesting blogs I wanted to recommend. What I missed was the time to write. Things look better now, as I am back to my freelance status. One day I should really write about the joys and the challenges of freelancing.
Is Thursday a weekend day? When you are a freelancer you can make your own weekends. So, if you ask me… today is the day to read some very good blog.
We have a Guy Kawasaky first (no, I am not making a top) with How to Change the World. Here you have a potpourri of interesting topics, online marketing strategies that work, cool stuff and even a job board.
Moving to Deborah at Life in the Fast Lane – a blog to read every day. I wonder where does Deborah find all those cool pictures, interesting topics and the time to write such compelling copy. Any tips, Deb? Maybe in one of your next entries?
Changing lanes to a freelancer’s resource: the Freelancing Journey by Denise Kincy Grier. It’s got all you need to become a successful blogger: writing tips, freelancer tools, jobs and paid to blog services.
My personal favorite is Sue’s Sueblimely – Discovering Blogging. This blog has a beautiful, simple design, interesting topics and a heart. No other comments needed. I give you the pleasure of discovering it.
And a bonus: if you want to see beautiful photography and stunning abstract art visit Peripheral Vision by Lynda Lehmann.
If you are not freelancers, consider visiting these blogs over the weekend. Don’t stop at the first entry. Go deeper, browse the archives, take your time. You won’t regret it.

Wow, thanks so much for the mention and kind words Mihaela
In answer to your question, I spend hours daily surfing for my next story. If you spend some regular time on Digg, you will learn many of the good online news sites to watch.
I use Flickr regularly for images. Most people are more than happy that you’ve used their photos which gives them added exposure, providing that you give credit and link back to their images. But make sure to send them a message that you’ve done so.
As for the time spent, well, there is no easy answer to that. It’s a constant juggle between my business, blogging, and home life
Sueblimely is an excellent site which I highly recommend. I’ll be checking into your other recommended sites, thanks
And you see? She really pays attention to what you need and replies.
Deb, you are a great blogger, you know that?
Thanks Mihaela, you’re making me blush
Might I say that I feel the same way about you. You’re for ‘real’, and very good at what you do
That is a great list Mihaela Lica. I subscribed to a couple of them.
as usual like your blog, the ones you mentioned were also good read. thnx for the links..
I also run a blog nofullstop[dot]com (I had to leave the URL this way as akismet is blocking my URL)
please do have a look at the blog and I hope you will link to it. I have been working hard with my blog but after I shifted to wordpress i lost all readers. some words in your blog will surely bring in some help
Great suggestions…I will definetely check them out!!!
Have a great one my beautiful friend!!!
Maria
I guess you misunderstood my comment. I don’t have spam comment in my blog. The problem is that akismet is blocking my URL when I leave a comment on other blogs as it considers my blog as SPAM.
I have installed akismet in my blog and it is blocking the spam comments well. Recently 1 spam crept in else the comment problem has been handled well. The problem is that it is blocking my blog URL and so I cannot leave my URL while commenting on other blogs.
Still thank you for commenting on my blog and I hope that you subscribed to my feeds and will appreciate the upcoming articles.
nofullstop[dot]com
Salman, I was just trying to help you. Trackbacks from pharmacy sites (existent on your blog) are spam. Erase them from your comments. Akismet thinks that your site is spam because you link to bad neighbors. As long as you keep the tylenol trash on your site, you’ll have the same problem.
Great list of blogs!
Yeah
.
Wow Mihaela, thank you so much. Coming from a professional blogger and excellent writer who I respect, this means a lot to me.
You just made me blush.
I just checked out my co.mment page so I knew you had replied to my comment. I really like the application – I think it has great potential for creating more animated blog discussions.
It’s OK I cannot see you blushing – I do not think there is an application that links comments to a web cam as yet although surely that must be in the pipeline. What a horrible thought – having to look presentable when you dash to the computer first thing in the morning to check your comments etc. The mind boggles at what images would appear on such things as MyBlogLog especially from countries with hot nights! I will stop there before my imagination really gets carried away.
Mihaela,
I just came to your blog and in subscribing to your feed I noticed you had posted the link to my blog here and recommended visiting. Thank you so much for the vote of confidence!
Raising money for literacy is a great idea! I will re-visit this post when I have the opportunity to absorb the details. I know, illiteracy, hunger and poverty can’t wait…..
My best to you,
Lynda
You are welcome Lynda! Your pictures are very beautiful, but you already know that.
Take your time with the post for the kids, but not too long because there is a deadline. Tic-tac….
I truly LOVE the “jumping stilts” or “powerbocking” in Deborah’s blog! Thanks for mentioning these blogs!
Jaap Verduijn.
Welcome, Jaap. Deborah is amazing, isn’t she?
