For more than a year I worked on freelance basis and it was hard to manage my time, set priorities and manage my team. But I did it. Somehow it all worked out. I had a black notebook, some colored pencils, no experience whatsoever and a weight of motivation.

I had to make my business work. I had to keep my team happy.

Those of you who work with me now, know I am a busy person, but you also know how I work…

It was not always like that.

Once upon a time, last year in May, although I had enough online PR expertise, I had no idea how to manage my time. Back then a time-management application was a foreign concept.

Today… after working with so many different big and small-sized companies (and for confidentiality reasons I cannot give examples) I know that no matter how small the enterprise is, there are always problems related to time-management and employee monitoring.

All companies, no matter the size, try to improve performance and seek to find ways to monitor work effectiveness. They monitor employee attendance, they write attendance reports, they sometimes make use of an entire human resources department that manages employee attendance, tasks and payrolls. Employing many HR officers is often costly. There are solutions for these problems and they are just a click away.

You can easily get a time and attendance tracking software like the one from Kronos (nice name for a company dealing with time management – for if you didn’t know it by now, Kronos was the Greek Titan of time and age) and monitor everything from your PC. Or hire one HR to do this, instead of ten who have to fill in complicated paper work.

Sometimes it is quite scary what software can do and how it replaces human work force. But when software increases productivity and cuts costs, isn’t it better for your business to use it?

Besides, such a tool, when used properly, ensures that the work of the HR is error free and gives you other important advantages. You can have your team managers focused on more important tasks that actually bring profits in your company than having them dealing with paper work and administrative tasks.

Kronos is not the only time and attendance solution on the Web, but there is something I like about it. This is also the time for me to reveal that I am currently writing a small SEO book and that this book will include almost everything you need to know to improve your site on your own. The reason I mention it is directly related to Kronos. Kronos is the best example of what business sites should look like and what good web copy means.

A look at their website will show you that their main focus is the user. The web copy is excellent, the design clean and comprehensible. At the first glance the perfect site. This website offers a good product, a product medium sized and large companies can use to take ease the work of the HR department. If you compare the information on their site with any other site of a kind you’ll immediately understand why I lob them today. And I would lob them more, but there is a small thing that stops me…

Their site doesn’t validate. So many HTML errors lead to a lack of accessibility. The errors are far from being minor and it make no sense to shadow the value of the content now. I just hope that after reading this humble review, the owners of the site will consider making their site accessible for the less fortunate users and correct all the HTML errors that keep their site from ranking higher into the SE too.
