Thanks for this advice, Mig. I wish I’d read it before I started my current group writing project - it was a spur-of-the-moment idea, and I just jumped in and started without much thought. I haven’t promoted it, and I’m not getting many entries, so it may just end up being a learning experience - something I could have had by reading this first!

Thanks for this comprehensive roundup and feedback, Mig. I think we ticked most of these boxes with our Shared Answers group writing project, so that is heartening. We also have some ideas for improvement, many from generous participants like yourself, who took the time to give us some suggestions for refinement.

I am going to do a follow up post as well, about tips for running group writing projects, so I’ll be sure to link to this one.
