I am still trying to adjust to my new working schedule. The weekends find me exhausted but no matter what happens I cannot give up on my Salsa Friday specials. The moment I give up on those is the moment I have to admit defeat and acknowledge that… maybe… I am too old to dance (?!). Just kidding. Not going to happen. Unless the bar closes down and I have no other choice.
I lost track of time these days. My mother is here, visiting and my schedule was more than busy. I try to be a good daughter and to spend as much time as I can with her. So if I still do bad at answering your emails and comments in time, please bear with me till the end of the month and I promise I’ll do better.
In the meanwhile, let me tell you what I’ve been up to. If you don’t know it by now, Yvonne and Laura had a great idea and proposed a theme for a group writing project. It was called Shared Answers and the topics were Problems & Challenges and Solutions. The response to their project was lower than I expected, despite the fact that there was even a $30 Amazon gift certificate to win.
I cannot really believe that people are not interested in a prize. I fear that the time was too short and that people don’t find it really easy to share their problems. Anyway, this project was fun and the entries I read (from the other participants) were up to my expectations. The lack of numbers (response) is compensated by quality. My personal favorite is The Challenge of the Enemy We Call Friend. by Mommy Zabs, but this doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy reading the other entries.
I found some time to check into Maria’s progress with the BAAAHHH!!! show and, because I missed her birthday (girl, I will never forget myself) I promise myself I will not miss the show in Italy.
After a long-long time and work together with Yvonne, who wrote the content of the site, Michi who wrote the articles in the knowledge base, the new YouCanSubmit is online. There are still some technical difficulties with the blog, but we can safely say… we’ve got it done. Great job, girls!

1Mig,
Enjoy your visit with your mother. I lost my mother five years ago, and I still miss her.
Congratulations to you, Yvonne, and Michi for a job well done.

3My condolences on your lost, Lillie. I understand what you mean: true love never dies and the love we have for our parents is something that will stay in our hearts forever, time or no time. I mean: time will not heal. Not this kind of emptiness…
Thank you, in the name of the YouCanSubmit team. It was a project that required time and skill, but I think we had the best team anyone could wish for. I really wonder how Al feels about this.
(Al is the owner of the site)
Lisa Vella was hired to write the press release for the site. Pretty pleased to tell you it is going great so far. Soon you’ll hear the YouCanSubmit name pretty loud on the Web.

4Yvonne, the YouCanSubmit site is equally your work as it was mine.
And Michi’s. And Tina’s (she converted the design into a wordpress theme).
Maybe you take a look again at the site and let me know if I am missing something. I made the changes you suggested, but… you never know.

5Thanks for your support of our project.
There seems to be an unusually high number of group projects going this month. I think that might have been why we didn’t get as many participants. (I like Mommy Zabs entry too!)
I’m off to check out YouCanSubmit. Congratulations to everyone who worked on it!

8The group writing project looked like it was fun, interesting, and a great learning experience on many levels. I read the post by Mommy Zabs and it was very powerful. I am looking forward to reading all the rest. If there is another similar project, I will most likely participate. My daughter is going back to school next week, and I expect life to become more routine again - which means more writing time, as well!
Anyway, great job to all of you who worked on the YouCanSubmit project. The new website looks great and I’m sure it will be a huge success! Thank you for the opportunity to write the press release!
Have a wonderful day!

11The YouCanSubmit site looks great, Mig. I am proud to be a part of it!
And Lillie is right…enjoy the time with your mother! When I move next summer, it will really be the first time I have been away from my family for more than just a couple of months. It won’t be easy, and I’m sure I’ll miss them every day. I am very lucky, though, that I have had the opportunity to be close to them (both physically and emotionally) for the 35 years that I’ve been on this planet. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

Have fun with your mom and I am sure you will soon get the hang of everything in your life.

14I get so very busy also, but I always make time for salsa fridays. There’s nothing like a good salsa beat to scare my blogging blues away
