The Magic 7 Shines

The sun is shining, the weather is finally warm and inviting, after days and days of rains and chilli winds. It’s Sunday. The 7th day of the week. A magic day; a sacred day and a day of mystery. But for me, today is the first warm day in months. 7 months to be more precise. Coincidence? Destiny? Who knows?

7 is such a controversial number. People who like 7 are introspective, analytical and quite often inclined toward metaphysic and theology. I like 9 and I am an absolvent of theology. 7s also like to think deeply. I do to. But I’m still no 7. Isn’t that strange? Are 7 and 9 related? And why do I like 9 anyway, when it is pretty clear the 7 is stronger?

Think about it: 7 continents and 7 seas, 7 days in the week, 7 colours in the rainbow, 7 notes in the musical scale, 7 directions (up, down, left, right, back, forward and center) 7 deadly sins, heck… even 7 dwarfs! And now there is a 7 random facts meme. And I already revealed two about myself. The first is obvious. Bold, screaming at you in the second paragraph. But can you guess the second?

Yes, that’s right. I am superstitious. I believe that everything happens for a reason and I believe in the zodiac too. I believe that dreams mean something and I believe in premonitions. There’s no reason on Earth not to believe in the power to see the future. Remember: time and space are relative. Tomorrow already happened.

We see 7 planets with the naked eye. And we cannot really see their surface to know what worlds are out there, unexplored, waiting. But I know that these worlds are there. And I believe that they are inhabited. Yes, I believe in aliens, pretty much with the same power as I used to believe in fairies as a child. I want my fairies back!

There are 7 days in the week and I can go on listening to the same salsa CD, every day, hours and hours. I can read the same book 7 times and I will still find it fun and refreshing. I don’t mind seeing the same movie 7 times. It would still feel new to me. Now, I don’t have a memory problem. I just do things from a different perspective. The first time I watch a movie I pay attention to the story, the second time I’ll take a careful look at the editing, the third time I’ll find the best secondary actor and follow his/her performance… etc.

Well, here they are, enough factors about me to beat the 7 random facts idea.

This, my blogging friends was my part in the “7 Random Things” meme. , the writer and editor, who revealed a lot of her soul in her entry, tagged me. Then Martine tagged me for the same meme, with the only difference that instead of 7 things her meme requires 8 random things. I stick to my “7″ preference today.

And I will tag 7 bloggers. Today I’ll do something special, for the first time. I will tag only bloggers I do not know. Why? Because this is the purpose of this meme: to get to know people.

How do I choose these bloggers? I type “beauty” in the MyBlogLog search query.

So here they are: Aparna of Beauty and Personality Grooming, Kristen of Beauty Addict, Hazel of Beauty Hazel’s Blog (nice pictures here), Jen of Beauty Marked (what a beautiful design!), Lisa of The Beauty Café, the mysterious woman behind Beautynomics, and the ones behind BeautyLoveSpirit.

It’s really amazing what bloggers and blogs you can discover with a simple MyBlogLog search. Whether the bloggers above answer the tag and continue the meme is irrelevant. The little time I spent on their blogs was enough to convince me to become a returning visitor. These happen to be my recommendations for this weekend too. Enjoy.

  1. Hi!

I noticed that you linked to my blog magazine http://www.BeautyLoveSpirit.com in your entry. It put a big smile on my face. I think your facination with the #7 is interesting! I didn’t really think about all those things until you mentioned them.

I’d like to continue this meme too. Perhaps i’ll choose a different phrase other than “beauty” we’ll see! Anyway, its nice to meet you. Feel free to drop me a note, I am always up for discussing blogs :)

Welcome to eWritings! it is good to know who authors BeautyLoveSpirit. I was not familiar with the blog, and I am happy to find it.

You can continue the meme any way you like. It’s about you. Choosing beauty and bloggers I don’t know was a random action. :)

  3. Sophie says:

Hi! :) I saw your linkback via my Technorati. :) I didn’t know I was “mysterious!”. We are somewhat the same that we believe in the zodiac, are superstitious, and believe in premonitions :)

  4. Thanks for sharing, Mig. I enjoyed getting to know more about you. And I think tagging bloggers you don’t know is a terrific idea.

  5. I can’t believe how many things we have in common!!!

    M.

  6. Mihaela, I continued the meme! Just put the post on my site. I search “twenty-something” and found some pretty neat sites. It’s amazing what you can find via a simple search. I also linked back to your blog here so people can retrace the linage. :)

  7. Mihaela Lica says:

Sophie, I only said you were mysterious because I coulnd’t find your name on your site. :) But now, when I think about it, if you believe in all these things you are a mystery.

  8. Mihaela Lica says:

Yes, Lillie, apparently it is. The meme has trasformed now into a let’s tag 7 people we don’t know meme, by searching at MyBlogLog for a random keyword… :D

  9. Mihaela Lica says:

@ C.M. Williams – you’ve managed to find really interesting blogs. Too bad that during the week I do not have time to see them all. But I will go back in the weekend. And thank you for the link love. :)

  10. Mihaela Lica says:

Ha, ha, ha, Maria! I am not surprised at all! We were born under the same star!

  11. Aparna says:

Thanks for tagging me. I’ll do it in a few days time. That’s a nice blog you have here.

  12. I am not so much a believer of numbers in relations to the fulfillments of life. Yet, there have been moments for me to ponder its significance as in the science of numerology. Most houses I live in thus far *5* or added up to *5*. The number *7* is dominant in my life. This year, like the author of this blog page – Mihaela Lica, I am number 9. Identification numbers and phone numbers, mine, contain mostly these three digits. Well, I shall explore more of this so as to discern the facts, the figures, the fantasies, the flaws, and the falsehood in relations to this topic.

  13. Mihaela Lica says:

Hi Aparna, thank you for the nice words. I can hardly wait to read your entry. It’s always interesting to see how memes evolve and where they lead.

  14. Mihaela Lica says:

Zubli, as I know you are a great author, I am sure you’ll come up with a great analysis of numerology. :) For me the 7 meme was just a fun way of expressing my personality.

  15. David Taylor says:

Ha ha this post made me smile, I think I may be a 7 in many ways…. Is that normal for a Libra?

Anyway it also may me think of a really really bad joke!

Why was 6 scared of 7?

    Because 7 8 9!!!!

See really bad. Are stupid jokes a trait of 7 too?
