Welcome to eWritings, Valerie. You are right, I am also a foreigner in Germany and I keep in touch with my family via WWW - (my mom prefers the old-fashioned phone and snail mail tough)

But now, around Xmas and the New Year ... the www was not enough. I felt somehow torn apart from my father. My mother is visiting :)

We do feel lonely from time to time, despite the great connection through the web...

Hi! i can't help myself but to comment on your post. I can really relate to what you have said. As you see, I'm all alone living in another country, my whole family is in Florida. It's really hard being far from them but we manage to keep in touch with each other via regular online chat and webcams. I would like to quote what you've said, "Yes, we can hear and see each other. But we cannot touch each other. We cannot hold hands and we cannot lean on each other when destiny calls for such measures. No warm fingers will wipe our tears and no hand to hold out and reach for another hand." --- I can really relate with you! this is what I'm feeling right now. However, even if being far from my family seems so depressing, I'm still thankful to the world wide web because I can still talk with my family even if I'm alone here in my apartment...this is much better than just sending postcards..

MIG - In retrospect this is such an interesting and fortuitous post. It is nearly exactly as you described it including the love aspect - for we are - after all both angels and human at the same time. I admire you very much - as you know.

Always,
Phil

I cannot even describe the joy of reading your comments today. I am impressed to see what deep feelings this entry has caused and all I can do is thank God to have you among my friends. My entry was indeed, a bit bitter… but I’ve never doubted the value of this World. It's just… that… no matter what we’ll do, something will be missing. I wonder if destiny will allow it for us to meet. Maybe. Or maybe not. But no matter what happens, we still have this special connection, we still share these special feelings. And I want to thank you all for being a part of my World.

I always get the strangest feeling that we are flung together in the "separate" dimension for reasons yet obscure to us all. Reading your heartfelt and ironic thoughts is at once identifiable in me and in others I see. You are quite extraordinary Mihaela!

Sometimes I sit for hours and await an email reply to some instantly tantamount effort of mine, only to grow tired in waiting and leave the screen to ponder if my presentation or ideology was not worthy. Only to awake and find a message of some gravity from as sector of the Web so unexpected. As in the physical world the slightest kindness at the right moment can uplift, while a casual short answer can also instigate a depressed state. I wish we could all know one another and extract the very best on command.

I wish I could buy you a very pretty hat :O) or tell all your readers how kind you have been to my causes however minuscule. Perhaps I will whisper a wish, no a prayer that God will bless you in some great way for being a striking flower in a field strewn with the hopes, aspirations and passion of a multitude. Thanks for being you gal.
Always,
Phil

I know everything you said is true. This world is most of all limited, although seeming to be never-ending. Strange how it acts though, at least in my case. I see most of my real life friends every two weeks when I am trapped in work. Some of them also share my online existence. But sometimes, just sometimes, those who were by me in rough times were from this virtual world. And it meant the world to me. And no, we had no coffee and I did not get a hug, but I felt there was someone by my side. And I try to do the same for those who need it.

See, I try to stick to the bright side in everything I do. And the truth is, if it weren't for this world, I would have never met you, Dio, all my friends from Egypt, Trisi and many more. I do plan to meet you all for real one day. But still, it isn't all unreal or just an illusion, that is the great part!

Great post Mig, really loved it. And yes, the new template is really cool!

Thank you, everyone! I am sorry I cannot give detailed answers today. I have a lot of work to do and most of it is offline. (Strange but true!) I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Jen, Lisa... I wish I could hug you too. But I do hope we'll meet one day!

Mihaela Lica,

When I came to your page, I thought, "Ooh! I like her new site design! Can't wait to comment on that!" But your post was so lovely and thought provoking I nearly forgot what I originally wanted to say. Hmm...if only I could hug you!

I appreciate your ability to think on such a deep and meaningful level. It's people like you who bring about change in this world we live in!

Thank you for your thoughtfulness!
