When you read his blog you will feel a warm heart and a passion for blogging. You’ll see with Dio’s eyes, you’ll wonder about the world, you’ll ask thought-triggering questions. You’ll find answers. You’ll find then even deeper questions.
This is Dio: the real blogger of mystery. Is Dio a woman? A man? Does Dio have a real name? Do we really need to know?
Personally, I have no doubts. Dio doesn’t reveal a name, but Dio reveals a true soul, a spirit without borders, wit and kindness.
So let me introduce Dio to you: a blogger with a fine idea, a blogger from a Quasi Fictional world.
Mihaela “Mig” Lica: Why Diogenes?
Dio: I had the pleasure to translate Din Main Charagh - Urdu book by Abbas Khan. For that I read philosophy to understand how varying points of view about existence are presented, and psychology to know how philosophers come up with those points of view; Greek mythology to learn about their strong love of nature and Roman history to explore what they gave to the world.
It was during my literature review for the translation that I read Diogenes - Greek philosopher. During daytime, Diogenes used to take an oil lamp, to lit it and to walk the streets of Athens.
“Why lit a lamp in the bright light of the day?”
people used to ask.
Where is the light, the philosopher used to counter question. It is dark all around.
People used to call him a mad man. It was then that I took Diogenes as a pseudonym.
Mig: Why did you start The Fine Art of Blogging series?
Dio: Simple: I started Fine Art of Blogging as a project to engage more bloggers to interact with; also for some exposure, some linking and resultant traffic.
But soon my objectives changed. Only after a few posts I knew that there is much more to it than what I thought initially. Every one of the participating bloggers has unique experiences and different perspectives to share.
There is so much of inspiration and learning, particularly for my mostly non-blogger readers in a less connected society with small Internet users’ base. Many of my readers tell me to keep adding to this.
Mig: Which one do you consider the most inspirational / empowering entry?
Dio: I learn from each entry. Many readers also tell me so. It is hard to choose. Liz Strauss’s entry is very powerful. Community building spirit permeates from her words.
Which is one of the reasons I want to stay close to this lady? You said:
(Blog is) A place where everything is possible and where you feel like a demiurge ready to create a new universe through words of wonder.
This keeps coming back to me. And I may not forget what Axinia, Annamanila, Alina Popescu, Dine Racoma, Vicky Stringer, have said in their posts.
Mig: We already know what your guest authors think about the fine art of blogging. But what are your thoughts?
Dio: Blogs are bringing changes in human relationships and making difference in the lives of people (including how they work). The power of this relatively new media has caused people to find the purpose of their existence or to change themselves for the better.
Weblogging has become a reliable resource for my writings. More often, I blog informally, sharing impressions, generating ideas to see how they invoke reactions, keeping track of others’ work of my interest, or simply ranting or pointing out things that come to my attention. Also, blogging is a great platform to prune ideas.
Mig: What are you going to do with these entries? You told me once something about a book. Is this still a possibility?
Dio: What started, as a casual pursuit has now become my goal and creative activity in addition to networking and or socialization. This project has taken a shape.
This is what I am going about: as per their individual strength, I am asking different set of questions about blogging basics to different bloggers: What is a blog to you? How do you blog? Why? How do you pick topics day after day? What do you think about blog template, promotion tools and how do you promote yours? Why blogging matters? And some personal high blogging points in blog life. How do you make money by blogging (if you do)?
I will publish all the entries and will turn them into a book over time. All interested bloggers are invited to participate and email their entries to me to become a part of The Fine Art of Blogging.
What place can be better to announce this than here?

3Well, I’ve known Dio for quite a while now. Yes, there is lots of mystery behind Quasi Fictional, but you are right, who cares? You get inspiration, ideas, information, fun and everything you need while reading it.
I was really glad and proud to participate in the Fine Art of Blogging series. I think it’s a great initiative and I hope it will some day become a book.
