Posted by Mihaela Lica as Website Reviews
If last time I had to perform one of the most difficult reviews ever, this time I have an easy job: ukpersonalloanstore.co.uk is not bad at all.
Comments on design: a centered basic design, with a clear layout and fresh, inviting colors. Although the layout is a standard, it doesn’t bother the eye as much as other sites made on a predefined template, because the designers bothered to improve the general aspect by adding a professional logo, good web graphics and quality stock photography.
Comments on W3C and Section 508 compliance: the site fails at all tests. The code is a mess, there is no document type declaration specified, flagrant HTML errors and other issues make the site fail at the W3C validator test and at the Cynthia 1.0 test.
Comments on navigability and site structure: a very good navigation structure, proper internal linking and a clear sitemap saves the site from being declared… “user unfriendly.”
Comments on SEO: overall good SEO results, yet the Google command site:http://www.ukpersonalloanstore.co.uk/ shows an important amount of supplemental results, situation that can be fixed by changing the keyword stuffed meta descriptions. The links directory has a good structure and related links: a good choice for link exchange if you have a related site.
Miscellaneous: very good page copy, useful articles on dept consolidation and other financial issues, written for the users and not for the SE. Clear privacy policy, plenty of useful links. Problem: the about us leads to an empty page. And when I say empty, I mean 100% blank.
