If you want to know Steli all you need to do is follow his work. He is young, kind, modest and yet… ambitious, determined and has a special gift from God: the power to inspire people.
But Steli doesn’t like to talk about himself as much as he likes to talk about his dreams. And one of these dreams is the Supercool School (SrC): a project which will allow anyone on Earth with a PC and Internet connection have free access to a new educational system based on a special concept (read all about it below).
Some of you already know Steli, but for those of you who don’t, I have a link to the Supercool School blog. So if you want to know Steli, to learn even more about his project than you’ll learn here, click on the link, visit the blog, and ask whatever you want. Steli will answer kindly and seal his words with the already classical super cool signature: Much power to you!
Mihaela “Mig” Lica: What is the Supercool School?
Steli Efti: A bold attempt to redefine the concept of virtual education. While the Wikipedia is a collection of specialty articles, more or less accurate, the Supercool School will unite educators and students live, interactively, and free. We’ll certainly have an online encyclopedia, free and user editable, but we are going to surpass this concept and take online education to the next level. This is a “people educate people” concept. Anyone could be an educator, the only requirements are: proven expertise, dependability, dedication and the willingness to share knowledge free of charge.
Mig: What inspired you to start such a project and what are you trying to achieve?
Steli: My own destiny: my personal background and history led me to this project. I was naïve enough to drop out of school early in life and I didn’t believe in learning and education. A life-changing event has turned me into a “learning-lunatic” and into an advocate of education. I didn’t want others to make my mistake and give up school. But than again… there are people who cannot afford to pay the price of education. The more I was thinking about this, the clearer became for me that something needs to be done. Then I had a dream which made me come up with the idea of a “Supercool School” You can read the whole story here. What I want to achieve? I want to inspire people to join in, make this project a reality and change the world!
Mig: Do you have any exact date for the launch?
Steli: No exact dates since this is a no-budget project and all the technical help is coming from volunteers. But we are pretty confident that our launch will be in early May 2007.
Mig: What message do you have for the potential users/ members/ students?
Steli: Help us to help the world become a better place. Come on board - if you are looking for a project that could really have an impact on our world - you found it.

6Once there was two people I truly admired. Then I read “7 Lessons You Learned @ School That Could Possibly Ruin Your Life”, and now there’s three. Steli Efti has put words on what I couldn’t express in years of education, and now I can do it myself.
If I ever spoke with or to Steli Efti, I wouldn’t have much more to say than thank you.
