I don’t really know what to blog about today. The Virginia Tech events still echo everywhere on the blogosphere. I have a duty to my clients and a duty to my readers. I put my readers first and my clients understand. But now I’m behind many projects…and face the dilemma…not knowing who to serve first.

So I’ll ramble to “clear” my thoughts. The weather is lovely in Germany. I’m down with a cold, which probably makes me depressed, but other reasons make me even more depressed than I was when posting Bang Bang You’re Dead!

I was supposed to publish the Website Review: term-quotes.net that Teusday, but I had the moral duty to postpone the post and to write about the tragedy and about Steli’s initiative. And now I hear that he has received hate messages, that people called him names, reacted aggressive, and displayed no tolerance… I am hurt.

I was looking for an answer to “why did the killing happen” and I’ve got some opinions in your comments. Then the answers in the news. Yet the more I think about it, the more I understand I was asking the wrong people and the wrong question. I should not ask you. You, my readers, are kind, gentle hearted.

No… I should not ask “why did this happen”. I should ask the others:

what happens with you, people? What happened with your humanity? Why the hate? Why the lack of tolerance? Why do you have to believe that behind any kind gesture there is a media concern trying to make a win? Why do you have to deny other people’s values? People die each day. Innocents die each day murdered by psychos, all around the world. Somehow those of you who ask what happens with the other victims of violence are right. But why don’t you, instead of shouting against a kind heart like Steli’s, come up with a better solution? One idea would be: one day blog silence for all the victims of violence in the world. Silence. Respect. Would you start shouting during the funeral of your own relatives? Why don’t you stop and think for a while? THINK. Remember? That’s what you do when you are alone, in silence. So keep silent and think. Use that one day blog silence to answer this question: Who are you to throw the stones? Don’t you see that your lack of tolerance and understanding is one of the reasons “why”?

Don’t get me wrong. I am not talking about the people who will talk on the 30 of April about this tragedy. I am talking about those who posted on different blogs comments like “bloody American egotrippers…”, “Oh please, this idea is so stupid.”, “This whole thing sounds like a way for a circle of blogs to capitalize on this tradgedy.”, “This is stupid. Do we hold a one day blog silence for the deaths in Iraq, or for people who get murdered on the streets every day? No, we don’t. But when it’s a catastrophe in America we all rush round to show some solidarity and support. In the grand scheme of things, what are you hoping to achieve by uniting a few hundred blogs?” And the list could go on.

Now, those of you who wrote these comments… do you understand why the violence, why the hate, why the never-ending wars? Because, you guys, are the majority. Because, every time we try to make something good, something to bring some value to this world. you come with your raised voices, with your “NO” and with your ready fists to stop us. And then you fight against others, who, like you, don’t agree with you and find no better way to say it than with raised voices and ready fists.

Do you want to know why we unite to commemorate the Virginia Tech victims? Because parents lost their children. They lost their hopes, their dreams. Their own lives if you want. And NO WORDS you’ll ever say, will ease that pain.

Now back to you, my readers. Thank you for your comments on this blog, but above all, thank you for the supportive entries. And here they are, all of the entries that, although some do not support the One Day Blog Silence initiative, are notable.
