Now, why would a website that sales blinds and shades would need a flash intro and sound? This is really the first aspect that would make me run, run away fast from the web pages of guaranteedblinds.com.
Besides, that annoying flash is loading each time you press the “home” button, basically each time you return on the index page. Quite exasperating if you ask me. Talking about useless design elements that, instead of increasing user experience, puzzle and complicate things unnecessarily.
The rest of the site is not so bad, yet not very convincing. A “measuring guidelines” page saves the day and a page with special installation instructions for each product offered by guaranteedblinds.com makes it easier for the clients to learn whether they can mount the blinds themselves or they should ask for professional help. The problem on this “installation” page is that all the links lead to – surprise!!!!! – pdf documents. But no one bothered to let us, the visitors, know what might pop up onto our monitors.
This commercial site lacks other important details as well: there’s no valuable company information (like address and management), not even a contact name listed.
Overall a poorly conceived commercial website, a design I wouldn’t recommend for your business.
Guaranteedblinds.com has a long way to go to achieve a better level of quality in terms of web experience. And if that lacks, how can I be sure that the products and services are what I need?
